Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana hosts dialogue on gender-based violence in Parys, 10 Dec

The Deputy Minister of Communications, Pinky Kekana, will host a dialogue on gender- based violence on Monday the 10th of December 2018 in Parys, Free State. The dialogue is a partnership with the Ngwathe Local Municipality.

Minister Kekana says gender-based violence is a societal challenge that destroys women across race and class. It is a challenge that requires societal intervention, she adds.

“To defeat the unacceptably high levels of gender-based violence in our country requires the collective effort of all South Africans. Individually and collectively, we must commit ourselves to do everything in our power to reclaim every part of our land from those who terrorize women and children,” said Deputy Minister Kekana.

While in Parys, she will also drive an education awareness campaign around broadcasting digital migration. This will include connecting the Centre for Abused Children onto the digital platform and assisting community members to register for government’s free decoders.
