Deputy President David Mabuza leads COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout Outreach visit in the Enhlanzeni District, 23 Sept

Deputy President David Mabuza, in his capacity as the Chairperson of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on COVID-19 Vaccines, will tomorrow, Thursday, 23 September 2021, undertake an oversight visit to Mpumalanga Province, to engage on strategic interventions aimed at reaching population immunity through vaccination.

The vaccination rollout visit to Mpumalanga follows the outreach visits undertaken by the Inter-Ministerial Committee to Gauteng and North West as the provinces identified as lagging behind in the vaccination rollout programme. The Ehlanzeni District, in Mpumalanga has achieved just under 25% of vaccination coverage of the target population eligible for vaccination.

Members of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 vaccines will accompany the Deputy President and engage with other communities in the surrounding area and encourage citizens to get vaccinated.

Deputy President Mabuza will be accompanied by the Minister in The Presidency, Mr Mondli Gungubele, the Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla, the Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, the Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Mostoaledi, the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo as well as the Deputy Minister of State Security, Mr Zizi Kodwa.
