District Development Model Champions Deputy Ministers Magadzi and Mahlobo Visit Mangaung Metro

 

Following the announcement by HE President Ramaphosa of the District Development Model, Cabinet has deployed Ministers and Deputy Ministers to become District Champions for specific Metros and Districts. 

The Deputy Minister for Water and Sanitation, Mr David Mahlobo and Deputy Minister for Transport, Mme Dikeledi Magadzi have been deployed in the Mangaung Metro to strengthen efforts to mitigate the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic and Gender-Based Violence that has engulfed South Africa communities. 

District Champions are tasked to assist the President and Deputy President to manage the implementation of the District Development Model to enhance the capacity of the State across the country.

In support of this critical Presidential initiative, Free State Premier, Hon S Ntombela has deployed MECs Motshidisi Koloi and Mokalo Mogale respectively as Mangaung Metro Champions to work with Deputy Ministers Mahlobo and Magadzi. 

The Mangaung District Champions’ visit will focus on COVID-19, Gender-Based Violence and other service delivery related issues to be escalated by the stakeholders. On account of COVID-19, the community engagement will be done through stakeholders, Councillors and community representatives.

 

The Deputy Minsters will undertake engagements with Non-Governmental Organisations, Community Policing Forums, Religious leaders and other key Stakeholder on COVID-19 and Gender-Based Violence challenges in the Mangaung Metro.
