Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan opens Postmasburg Home Affairs office, 29 Apr

Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan to open modernised Postmasburg Home Affairs office and engage with stakeholders

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Fatima Chohan will, on Monday 29 April 2019, officially open a newly modernized Home Affairs office in Postmasburg, Northern Cape, thus to provide more channels for citizens to acquire identity documents and access other public services. The Deputy Minister will also be afforded an opportunity to participate in an imbizo with stakeholders as part of the Department’s ID Collection Campaign.

Postmasburg Home Affairs Office is now fully equipped to issue the high-tech smart ID cards and machine-readable passports. It has been designed in a manner that it allows for improving the workflow process and enabling provision of quality services faster, better and smarter. The Deputy Minister will distribute smart ID cards to some of the clients who will be at the office.

Modernising offices is part of the Department’s Moetapele (Leadership) Initiative whose objectives include front office improvement, standardising operations across offices, providing a pleasurable environment for clients and professionalising Home Affairs and its staff.
