Deputy Minister Nel to deliver the keynote address at the opening session of 2018 Planning Africa Conference
The Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Mr Andries Nel will deliver a keynote address at the opening session of 2018 Planning Africa Conference.
The 8th conference is convened by the South African Planning Institute (SAPI) in Cape Town under the theme – “The Making of Modern African Cities”.
The theme will be supported by sub-themes such as Social Justice and Rights to the City; Inclusive and Transformative Growth; Sustainable Neighbourhoods and Place making; and Sustainable Urban Management.
Deputy Minister will in his address touch on the implementation of the Integrated Urban Development Framework (IUDF).
He will also touch on issues relating to the work unfolding in Municipalities with regards to planning and governance as well as the readiness of South Africa to drive the New Urban Agenda.
