Minister Ronald Lamola meets with former Justice Minister Michael Masutha

Former Minister Masutha hands over the Justice and Correctional Services Oversight Report to Minister Lamola

Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Mr Ronald Lamola, MP, met with former Minister Masutha for a formal and official handover session earlier today.

Minister Lamola was briefed on progress made and key achievements during the fifth democratic administration. The handover session between the former Minister and Minister Lamola also entailed an overview of the work done within the criminal justice system including all the entities reporting to the Minister.

Former Minister Masutha thanked the government for having afforded him an opportunity to serve as the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services during the fifth democratic administration and wished Minister Lamola well in his quest to enhance access to justice for all.

“I wish Minister Lamola very well on his new journey of being at the helm of Justice and Correctional Services and will always be a phone call away for any support he may require from me. I fully believe that he is equal to task and needs no introduction to the legal fraternity as he practiced as an attorney before” remarked former Minister Masutha.

Minister Lamola acknowledged and thanked former Minister Masutha for the official handover of the Ministry to him and wished Masutha well in his future endeavours. “I am very much grateful to former Minister Masutha’s courtesy of welcoming me to the Ministry and looking forward to broadening access to justice for all and fast-tracking the transformation of the legal profession” concluded Minister Lamola.
