Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of SA, Mr Glen Mashinini visits voting stations in Ekurhuleni

Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of SA, Mr Glen Mashinini, supported by the Gauteng Provincial Electoral Officer, Mr Thabo Masemula will tomorrow visit four voting stations in Ekurhuleni where ward by-elections will be taking place.

Seventy seven (77) candidates representing 14 political parties along with 18 independent candidates will be contesting the ward by-elections, with voting taking place in 118 voting stations across all nine Provinces.

In Gauteng the Chairperson will be visiting four voting stations in ward 27. Ward 27 has over 16 000 registered voters. The ward became vacant as a result of the termination of the councillor’s party membership.
