Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries hosts 19th annual Female Entrepreneur Awards, 23 Aug

DAFF to award top female entrepreneurs in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) in partnership with the Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform and Total South Africa will host the 19th annual Female Entrepreneur Awards (FEA) on 23 August 2018 in East London.  

The awards continue to honour women entrepreneurs in the sector through the DAFF FEA Programme which recognises the efforts and contribution of women, young females and women with disabilities for the role they play in food security, poverty alleviation, job creation and economic growth in the sector.

On the day of the awards, Minister Senzeni Zokwana will award the overall winner and the nine award winners in the following categories;

Best Female Worker; Best Subsistence Producer; Top Entrepreneur: Smallholder; Top Entrepreneur: Processing; Top Entrepreneur: Commercial; Top Entrepreneur: Export Markets and two Ministerial Awards for Young and Female Entrepreneurs with disability in the sector.

The awards will be held under the theme “Women economic empowerment – a priority in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector”
