  • 1 million – doses of the Covishield vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India that arrived in a consignment at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday, 1 February 2021.
  • 200 – facilities that government has identified to distribute the vaccines.
  • Over 60 – the age of people who will be vaccinated during Phase 2 of the national vaccine strategy.
  • 500 000 – additional doses of the Covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute of India expected to arrive later in February 2021.
  • 12 million – total doses government has secured from the global COVAX facility.
  • 2 million – doses expected to be released by the global COVAX facility by March 2021.
