Minister Lindiwe Zulu addresses Parliament on socioeconomic interventions to mitigate impact of Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, 30 Jul

Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, is scheduled to make a Statement on “Socioeconomic Interventions to Mitigate the Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic” in a hybrid sitting of the National Assembly (NA) tomorrow.

The sitting will also consider the following:

  • A Report of the Portfolio Committee (PC) on Communications on the Communication received from Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies on filling of six vacancies on Council of Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA);
  • A Report of the PC on Communications on the Draft notice determining the remuneration of councillors of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA);
  • A Report of the PC on Communications on the Filling of four vacancies on the Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) Board;
  • A Report of the PC on Police on the Appointment of Executive Director of Independent Police Investigative Directorate;
  • A Report of the PC on Police on the Application for Firearm Amnesty declaration; and
  • A Report of the PC on Home Affairs on the Draft notice determining remuneration of Commissioners of Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) for 2019/20.

Meanwhile, Parliament’s delegation led by the Deputy Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Ms Sylvia Lucas, and the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Lechesa Tsenoli, will tomorrow hold the 1994 Women's Charter Review High Level Dialogue aimed at engaging the Free State leadership, virtually, on the findings emanating from the district level women’s charter review sessions held during the month of June 2020.
