South African Police Service National Women's Prestige Awards Ceremony

The South African Police Service (SAPS) Women Annual Prestige Award Ceremony was established in 2006, emanating from the SAPS’s Women’s Network that is currently an affiliate of the International Association of Women Police. The association creates a platform for international recognition in policing.

The SAPS National Prestige Awards for Women will be celebrated to acknowledge the valuable contributions made by female police officials and public service members, who went beyond the call of duty.

These women, amongst others, contributed to the reduction of crime against women and children (Contact Crimes), alleviation of poverty and also strived to continuously develop and promote a professional cadre of women within the SAPS. During the event, various exhibitions will showcase the sterling efforts completed.

The event will take place in two phases at the Casambo Executive Lodge, Mpumalanga.

Firstly, the judging of exhibition stalls of the various Provinces including SAPS Head Office will be conducted by the SAPS National Commissioner and appointed panellists.

The final phase constitutes the formal proceedings in the form of an award ceremony, during which the SAPS National Commissioner, General Riah Phiyega will deliver a key note address.

Members of the media are cordially invited.
