President Jacob Zuma to receive social cohesion summit report

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 27 November 2012, officially receive the Social Cohesion Summit Report and Declaration from Arts and Culture Minister Paul Mashatile in Pretoria.

Officially opened by President Zuma in July this year, the Summit brought together delegates from government, political parties, labour, business, faith based organisations and civil society who discussed various themes including, economic inequalities, social interaction, prejudice and discrimination as well as national identity and unity.

The summit adopted a declaration which will serve as a basis for ongoing work across all sectors of society to attain the ideals outlined in the Constitution. Government will lead the process of initiating further interactions and ensuring the implementation of the commitments contained in the summit declaration.
