MEC Creecy launches plan to transform technical education

Gauteng Education MEC Ms Barbara Creecy will on Wednesday, 6 March 2013 announce the department’s plans to transform technical education in the province so that it produces learners that can be absorbed into the workplace immediately they finish school.

The strategy involves working with various companies and agencies to train learners while in grade 10 to 12 and to give them apprenticeships or learnership. This means that all learners in the targeted schools will have employment opportunities after school or be able to further their studies at tertiary institutions.

Details of the briefing are as follows:
Date: 6 March 2013
Time: 10h00
Venue: John Orr Technical High School, 1 Corner Owl Street & Empire Rd, Milpark, Johannesburg
