The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal, Senzo Mchunu, together with the MEC for Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha, will officially launch the School Sports Programme in Umzimkhulu on Thursday 24 January 2013 at 9h00.
At the historic launch, both MEC’s will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which is going to solidify this partnership between the two departments. The MOU is also aimed at establishing a formal and collaborative relationship between the two departments and to clarify responsibilities of each department.
Both MEC’s are going to start by visiting various schools in uMzimkhulu with the aim of giving sports kits and equipment’s to each school. During this launch, various sporting codes are going to be played by learners and illustrious sports personalities are going to motivate and give inspirational talks to learners.
