Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) undertakes a national census only every ten years. To bridge the gap, the community surveys are undertaken in between censuses.
The General Household Survey is published annually. It contains information on a variety of subjects including education, health, the labour market, dwellings, access to services and facilities, transport, and quality of life.
