Home education or home schooling is an alternative to attending a public or independent school where a parent of a learner of compulsory school-going age may provide education for their own children at home.
You must apply to the head of your provincial education department to register your child for home education. Information on how to do this as well as curriculum documents and workbooks are available on the website of the Department of Basic Education.
