Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks joins hands with family of slain student activist

Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks and the family of the late Xolile Mosie will on Saturday unveil Xolile’s tombstone at the Langa cemetery as part of the 16 Days of Activism For No Violence Against Women and Children.

Mosie was gunned down by the apartheid police when a group of students, who included Kota-Fredericks, marched to the Langa Police Station demanding the release of students held there on August 11, 1976.

The ceremony is aimed at igniting positive debate about the role of young people in the fight against women and child abuse and the effect it has on the creation of sustainable and cohesive communities.
