D Peters to address 16 Days of Activism ceremony, 25 Nov

Northern Cape Premier D Peters to deliver the keynote address
at the opening ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against
Women And Children Campaign 2006

The Provincial opening of ceremony of the 16 days ceremony campaign will be
held at Danielskuil. The campaign starts on the 25 November 2006 to 10 December
2006 as there are other commemorative dates in between such as the
following:

The key commemorative days:

* 25 November (International Day for No Violence Against Women
* 1 December (International AIDS Day)
* 3 December (International Day for the Disabled)
* 10 December (International Human Rights Day)

The theme for the launch this year is ‘Act Against Abuse’. The purpose of
the launch is to acknowledge the importance of strategic partnerships in the
eradication of violence against women and children.

Among others, the aim of the campaign this year is to reach the people at
grassroots level and beyond the borders of our country.

This year also marks the 16th anniversary of the international 16 Days of
Activism Campaign.
