Deputy Minister Manamela to conclude Youth Month with a train ride with Sarafina cast
Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Mr Buti Manamela will conclude the Youth Month programme with a train ride to Soweto. Deputy Minister Manamela has been embarking on youth development activities and programmes in the course of Youth Month, also in commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of the June 16 Uprisings of 1976.
On June 30 2016 Deputy Minister will board a train in Tshwane with the original cast of the much acclaimed film, Sarafina. Passengers will disembark in Kliptown where they will join the Youth Parliament.
On board the train will be Ms Tobeka Zuma, Mbongeni Ngema, 40 National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) beneficiaries as well as other invited guests.
Later on, Deputy Minister, will on behalf of the President receive a declaration from participants of the Young Leaders Conference. The conference which is currently taking place in Johannesburg is deliberating issues under the theme: Connecting the past to the present: Young South Africans shaping a sustainable future.
In the evening Deputy Minister will then take part in a leadership colloquium titled: The new struggle hosted by the University of Johannesburg in association with the SABC.
