The Department of Water and Sanitation, as well as Minister Nomvula Mokonyane has expressed shock and sadness over the horrific water tanker accident that took place at Msinga within UMzinyathi District Municipality. The accident claimed the life of tanker driver on Tuesday 14 March 2017.
At the time of the accident, the water tanker was contracted to UMzinyathi District Municipality. It was not one of the department’s water tankers. The exact course of the accident is still being investigated.
Minister Mokonyane has expressed her deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased during this time of grief”, the Minister said.
