2017 Ministerial Youth Excellence Awards: Department calls for applications
As we continue our Youth Month commemorations, the Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) is officially opening applications for the 2017 Ministerial Youth Excellence Awards.
The Ministerial Youth Excellence Awards will be held on the 28 November 2017, and will recognize outstanding organisations and individuals who have contributed towards youth excellence and best practice in their fields.
The Department will award exceptional projects that solve public problems for youth development initiatives.
The applications deadline is the 21 July 2017. Applications can be made in the following categories:
- Creating Youth Leaders;
- Building Education, Training and Skills Development Capacity;
- Opening Economic Opportunities and Facilitating Entrepreneurship;
- Creating spaces for Identity & Belonging;
- Promoting Diversity & Inclusion;
- Encouraging self-expression: Sports, Arts & Culture;
- Best Practice in Afterschool Programmes.
We accept projects from government, civil society, private sector, universities and projects that have partnerships with government. The Department has entered into a partnership with the Western Cape Community Chest, which will manage the process.
