Invitation to an SKA Communication Stakeholder Forum

Media is invited to the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Communication Stakeholder workshop which is taking place on Monday, 27- 28 February in Carnarvon, which will include a tour of the SKA site.

The discussion will be around current projects and success stories, which President Zuma alluded to in his State of the Nation Address.

The South African MeerKAT radio telescope, currently being built outside Carnarvon in Northern Cape, is a precursor to the SKA telescope. The SKA is being constructed in South Africa and in Australia and when completed will be the largest radio telescope in the world. The MeerKAT will comprise 64 dishes on completion and will form part of the SKA phase 1.
