President Jacob Zuma saddened by passing of former Deputy Minister Bongi Ntuli

President Jacob Zuma has expressed deep sadness and extended his heartfelt condolences on the passing of former Deputy Minister of Social Development, Ms Bongi Maria Ntuli, who passed away on Saturday, 22 October in Pretoria.

“South Africa has lost a valuable seasoned servant of the people and a dedicated gender activist, and on behalf of government and all South Africans, we convey our heartfelt condolences to Ms Ntuli’s family. May her soul rest in peace,” the President said.

President Zuma said Ms Ntuli was a disciplined and committed leader and has served the country with distinction during her tenure as Deputy Minister of Social Development and of Trade and Industry as well as one of the long serving Members of Parliament, and she will also be remembered for her sterling contribution to the Convention for a Democratic South Africa (Codesa) talks.
