President Jacob Zuma addresses Indigenous and Traditional Leaders Indaba in Ekurhuleni, 29 May

President Jacob Zuma will tomorrow, 29 May 2017, officially open the Inaugural Indigenous and Traditional Leaders Indaba in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, under the theme " Unity in Diversity – Together moving South Africa Forward for an inclusive prosperous future”.

The Indaba will be attended by indigenous leaders, senior traditional leaders, Kings, CONTRALESA leadership, Government leaders as well as academics from across the country.

The Indaba will provide a platform for all stakeholders to discuss and address issues affecting traditional leaders and their communities as well as the role of traditional leaders in radical economic development and land matters. The Indaba is also convened to resolve some of the cultural practices violating constitutional and legislative rights of individuals and communities.
