The North West Province will this week, Thursday 09 to Friday 10 March 2017 host the Provincial Implementation Plan 2017– 2022 Summit on HIV, TB and STIs at Rustenburg Civic Centre. Dubbed ‘Let our actions count’, adapted from the South African National Aids Council (SANAC), the summit is coordinated by Office of the Premier in line with the objectives of the province’s Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal (RHR) concrete.

Hosted in the context of the National Strategic Plan (NSP) on HIV, TB and STIs 2017-2022 Framework that was launched on the 1st of December 2016 by the Deputy President, the tangible outcome of this two-day summit is the development of a multi-sectorial Provincial Implementation Plan for the HIV, TB and STIs response, which is aligned to the NSP (2017-2022).

“This two-day summit will provide participating sectors a platform for intense discussions and planning, with the view to promote strong community empowerment, greater ownership and accountability of a pledge to the province’s RRR vision and RHR concrete”, explained Mr Brian Setswambung, the provincial spokesperson, adding that the Office of the Premier through its RHR Directorate, will after the summit coordinate, monitor, evaluate and report on progress registered by all sectors in implementing the provincial plan.
