Woman bust for vehicles licensing scheme
Bronwyn Davids (29), has appeared in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Thursday following her arrest by members from the Hawks’ Anti-Corruption Unit for her alleged part in an Illegal vehicle licensing and police clearance scheme.
Davids, who is reportedly Elton Bernard Abrahams’s girlfriend was arrested on Thursday following the arrest of Abrahams and Daphula in Belhar and De Aar respectively in November 2016, in connection with allegations of running the said illegal scheme.
Millions of rand in cash and evidentiary proof were seized during Abrahams’ arrest.
Matter has been adjourned until the 16 February 2017, where the trio are expected to appear alongside each other. They are facing charges relating to fraud, corruption, money laundering as well as racketeering.
Investigations have gathered momentum, and additional arrests cannot be ruled out.
