Home Affairs official nabbed for corruption
The Hawks Limpopo Anti - Corruption Unit members have arrested a 32 year old Modimolle Home Affairs official for corruption.
The suspect allegedly confiscated the passport of a foreign national during the joint operation between the SAPS, SARS and Home Affairs in Modimolle during January 2017.
The suspect allegedly demanded R3000 from the complainant in order to get his passport back. The matter was reported to the Hawks and the entrapment was set and the suspect was arrested immediately after receiving the money he had demanded.
The suspect will appear in the Modimolle Magistrate Court soon.
