MEC Albert Fritz signs memorandum of understanding with Oudtshoorn Municipality to boost service delivery

The Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) has officially entered into an agreement with the Oudtshoorn Municipality to provide coordinated social services in Oudtshoorn.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on Friday between MEC, Adv. Albert Fritz, and Executive Mayor, Cllr. Colan Sylvester.

This memorandum frees DSD to collaborate directly with the Municipality, and deliver greater impact with our budget of R253.1-million which we spend in the greater area.

Our relationship will focus on responding to the most vulnerable segments of society in Oudtshoorn, such as children, people with disabilities and older persons.

The MEC and Mayor were joined by the DSD Oudtshoorn office manager, Mr. Dennis Ngonyama, and the Oudtshoorn Deputy Mayor, Ms. Noluthando Mwapi.
