Premier Supra Mahumapelo of Bokone-Bophirima Province will on Friday, 17 March 2017, deliver a Memorial Lecture in honour of Abram Onkgopotse Tiro, a teacher and political activist who was born in Dinokana village near Zeerust, Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality.
The Memorial Lecture will be delivered at Onkgopotse Tiro Comprehensive school, which is situated in Slurry outside Mahikeng.
The school annually celebrates the literary, political and educational legacy of Onkgopotse Tiro in collaboration with a number of key stakeholders. This year the prestigious Onkgopotse Tiro Memorial Lecture is held under the theme, ‘Maropeng go a boelwa’.
Amongst the key stakeholders expected are the current and former Members of Executive Council (MECs) for the Department of Education, representatives from the Onkgopotse Tiro family and delegates from the Botswana House of Traditional Leaders.
