Police hosts National Police Day in North West, 27 Jan

The South African Police Service (SAPS) will host the Annual Police Day event and the National Excellence Awards on Friday, 27 January 2017 in the North West Province.

The 27th of January is annually celebrated as National Police Day, as approved by Cabinet. On this day the leadership of the SAPS honours members and employees for their hard work and dedication in serving and protecting all in South Africa. This year the SAPS will also nurture and strengthen relationships with the Boitekong community.

To that end, we will hand a number of items over to those in need and hold an event in the area.

The National Police Day celebrations will be followed by the fourth annual National Excellence Awards on the evening of 27 January 2017 at Sun City.  The goal is to recognise and honour members who performed outstanding duties or deeds to attain service excellence.

Nominees include amongst others those at management level, operational members, employees with disabilities, support personnel, sports achievers, community policing forums and reservists.
