Minister of Women to host a media briefing on 16 Days Of Activism

The Minister of Women, Susan Shabangu will host a state of readiness media briefing on the 16 Day of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign and the National Dialogues on violence against women and children. This year government will convene a series of dialogues on violence against women and children to focus on the problem, discuss the causes and to find appropriate solutions.

The dialogue sessions will be launched in Limpopo on the 25 November 2016 and then rolled out across the country.

The media briefing will be hosted after the Joint Parliamentary debate on 16 Days of Activism on Tuesday, 22 November 2016. The debate will start at 10h00 at the National Assembly in Parliament Cape Town.

The 25 November is the International Day on No Violence against Women and children and signifies the beginning of the 16 Days of activism.

The Department will continue with the theme adopted in 2014 “Count Me In: Together Moving a Non-Violent South Africa Forward”.
