Minister Nathi Nhleko visits Public Works projects in Western Cape

The Minister of Public Works Nathi Nhleko will today visit the Western Cape Province as part of the two day meeting of the Minister with the nine Public Works MECs (MinMEC) hosted by the Department of Transport and Public Works in Cape Town.

MinMEC is the regular forum of the Minister and the provincial MECs that takes stock of service delivery implementation.

Members of the media are herewith cordially invited to join the Ministerial delegation as they visit some of the projects undertaken by the Department of Transport & Public Works this afternoon.

Minister Nhleko will be accompanied by Western Cape Transport & Public Works MEC Donald Grant and Head of Department Ms Jacqui Gooch.

The visit will be an occasion for the Provincial and National Departments of Public Works to showcase some of their current capital works, property development and job creation projects.

Projects to be visited as from 12:00-17:00 include the:

  • Karl Bremmer Hospital New Office Building (Bellville)
  • Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV)Installation – Vangate Shared Services Centre (VSSC) – Athlone
  • SA Museum (Cape Town)

 Transport has been arranged for members of the media wishing to be part of the Ministerial entourage that will be visiting the fore mentioned projects. A minibus will be parked outside the Strand Tower Hotel (STH) as from 11:30.Enquiries:
