Minister Nathi Mthethwa launches Reconciliation Month at War Museum, 30 Nov

Arts and Culture Minister, Mr Nathi Mthethwa invites members of the media to the launch of Reconcilation Month on Monday, 30 November 2015 at the War Museum, Bloemfontein in Free State under the theme, “Bridging the divide: Building a common South African nationhood towards a national developmental state.”

The theme seeks to embrace the common ties that binds us as a nation rather than focus on that which divides us as well as broadening of social cohesion as an important enabling milestone towards achieving Vision 2030 in line with the National Development Plan (NDP). Given South Africa’s past history of divisions along the contours of race, class, religion, culture, language and other social constructions, the quest to bring more equitable society, as envisioned in the NDP Vision 2030, remains a key challenge.

The Minister will outline the activities of the month during the launch.
