Minister Lindiwe Zulu launches SMME access to finance solution -Finfind, 30 Oct

Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu will, on Friday (30 June 2015) launch finfind, a web-based solution aimed at improving access to finance for small business owners. Finfind is South Africa’s one-stop solution for access to finance for SMMEs. The launch will take during the Second National Small Business Policy Colloquium in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The Department of Small Business Development, USAID and the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) have worked together over the past two years on this initiative. These partners understand that the SMME sector forms the backbone of South Africa’s economy and that it can be a powerful economic engine that can help us win the war over unemployment, inequality and poverty.

Minister Zulu has consistently pointed out that one of the key challenges facing SMMEs is lack of access to finance. Finfind will be instrumental in assisting SMMEs to become finance ready by providing expert advice and linking business owners with accountants and business advisors as well as providing them with the easy-to-use tools to help with their financial recordkeeping. Finance ready businesses will be linked with matching lenders in the Finfind lender database.
