Minister Jeff Radebe delivers key note address at SDG Knowledge Hub launch, 16 Mar

Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe will deliver a keynote address at the launch of the South African Sustainable Development Knowledge Hub under the theme “Leadership Challenges”.

The Knowledge Hub is an online African initiative that focuses on collecting and disseminating relevant research on the implementation of Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in South Africa. It is aimed at South African policy-makers and development partners looking for accessible South African research to inform their implementation of the SDGs and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The National Development Plan (NDP) further envisages an expanding higher-education sector that boosts incomes and productivity, and shifts South Africa towards a knowledge-based economy and a wider system of innovation that links universities, science councils and independent research and development institutions with priority areas of the economy such as the SDG Knowledge Hub.

The Hub is an initiative of the Faculty of Theology and Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership at the University of Pretoria (UP), with the support of UP’s Future Africa initiative. It is the only Hub of its kind in Africa and provides access to the most recent relevant South African research.
