Transport Minister closes Women in Transport Summit on high note

The Women in Transport Summit, held over the past two days at the Birchwood International Conference Centre under the leadership of Transport Minister Ms Dipuo Peters and Deputy Minister Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga will close on a high note tomorrow, Saturday, 22 August 2015.

Women from different backgrounds across South Africa deliberated on various opportunities in the transport sector to formulate a solid strategy, plan and time frames regarding tangible economic transformation and empowerment opportunities for women in the transport sector. Economic opportunities were robustly deliberated upon covering all modes of transport, aviation, roads, rail, maritime and public transport.

Minister Peters and Deputy Minister Chikunga together with the South African Network for Women in Transport will announce the recommendations and way forward of the three-day engagement as the Summit closes on a high note.
