The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), honourable Des van Rooyen will officially open the 1st Local Government Youth Development Conference tomorrow (20 June 2017) at 09h00.

This conference will assemble youth from municipalities across the country. The objectives of the conference are to create an inclusive youth participation platform that enables young people to review the progress of local government in the achievement of the National Youth Policy 2020, strengthen partnerships between government, business and civil society in developing young leaders in the local space and to build the government machinery in the provision of services to young people.
