The Provincial Government condemns disruptions in Vuwani

The Provincial Government would like to thank and congratulate residents of Vuwani who have distanced themselves from selfish and reckless calls under the disguise of peaceful shutdown. The shutdown will never be peaceful as long as roads are barricaded and stones are thrown at passing vehicles. This are acts of intimidation and we urge the Police to act swiftly to ensure that those going to work and schools are protected while ensuring that those involved in acts of intimidations are brought to book.

It pains us to learn that after our bad experience in the previous academic year, we still have shameless and selfish people who are masquerading as Community Leaders but continuing to play “Fafi” with the future of our communities by disrupting schools.

Our position as the Provincial Government is that no matter how justifiable your case might be no one has the rights to hold our children to ransom by undermining their constitutional rights to education.

We are always available as the Provincial Government to engage with all the Stakeholders while school kids are continuing to be empowered to become better and brighter leaders of tomorrow.

The situation in Vuwani can only be resolved through positive contribution by all Stakeholders.
