Statistician-General Pali Lehohla releases 2015 report on financial statistics of higher education institutions, 25 Oct

The Statistician-General of South Africa, Dr Pali Lehohla, will release the financial statistics of higher education institutions, 2015 report at a media briefing to be held on Tuesday, 25 October 2016 in Pretoria. This statistical release will provide financial statistics of South Africa’s public higher education institutions for the 2015 financial year.

The financial statistics of higher education institutions, 2015 report will include data on the income received by higher education institutions in 2015 from various sources, such as tuition fees from students, government grants, and other operating activities.

It will also provide a detailed breakdown on cash payments items such as compensation of employees and purchases of goods and services, amongst others. Against the backdrop of the #FeesMustFall campaign, the report will briefly highlight the sources and uses of cash of public higher education institutions (which includes 20 universities and 6 universities of technology) for the 2015 financial year.
