Dlungwana pays courtesy call to His Majesty King Zwelithini Zulu

The MEC for Education in KwaZulu-Natal Mthandeni Dlungwana has today, 19 June 2017 paid a courtesy call to His Majesty King Zwelithini Zulu in KwaNongoma at OSuthu Royal House.

The royal family took the opportunity to congratulate Honourable Dlungwana on his appointment as the MEC for Education and wished him well.

His Majesty assured MEC Dlungwana of his support to ensure that there's positive transformation in the system of education and that there's improvement in the pass rate of the National Senior Certificate.

In his reply, MEC Dlungwana also took the opportunity to thank the royal family for hosting him and his delegation afterwhich he briefed the King about the state of education in KwaZulu-Natal.

According to the MEC, education is a societal matter and hence the involvement of traditional leaders, who are one of key stakeholders in the province.

He assured the Royal Family that his office would adopt an open-door policy, irrespective of one’s political or tribal affiliation.
