Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa addresses 8th SA AIDS Conference in Durban, 15 Jun

Deputy President and Chairperson of the South African Aids Council (SANAC), Cyril Ramaphosa, will deliver a keynote address at 8th Annual SA Aids Conference tomorrow, Thursday, 15 June 2017, at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
 
The conference, themed “The Long Walk to Prevention: Every Voice Counts”, is an opportunity to understand the state of HIV and Aids epidemic in terms of treatment and prevention, and finding possible innovative solutions to ensure that South Africa achieves an AIDS-free society.
 
The conference is expected to be attended by more than 3 000 delegates from all spheres of government, civil societies, NPOs and academia dealing with HIV and Aids.
 
The conference also expects the presentation of more than 600 oral abstract driven presentations covering a variety of topics that includes:

  • Basic and Clinical Sciences;
  • Epidemiology, Prevention and Public Health;
  • Social, Political, Economic and Health Systems;
  • Ethics, Marginalisation and the Protection of Human Rights; and,
  • Best Practises: Programmes, Communications and Community Engagement
