Small Business Development celebrates 21 years of women in small business, 28 Aug

The Department of Small Business Development will, on Friday 28 August 2015, celebrate businesswomen who succeeded against all odds over the last twenty-one years. Key participants will include prominent women in key leadership positions in business, government, civil society and academia.

“The Department of Small Business Development would like to recognize these women as an example and inspiration to many others”, said Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu.

This event will seek to pay homage to success while giving a platform to women in small businesses and cooperatives to share and gain insight for building competitive businesses for the future. It is also about recognizing business innovation by women who have made a difference in society; link female entrepreneurs with market opportunities available; help increase the uptake of women incentives available for SMME’s and Cooperatives and create awareness of funding opportunities.

Women from all various walks of life will gather at the DTI Campus in Pretoria to deliberate on their experiences, while sharing lessons and challenges faced during their entrepreneurial journey. In addition, relevant government agencies, financial institutions and vendors will exhibit and impart vital knowledge.

The event will be held as follows:
Date: Friday, 28 August 2015
Time: 08h00
