Defence invites media to apply for accreditation for Castle of Good Hope 350th Commemoration

Accreditations process: Castle of Good Hope 350th Commemoration Presidential Tribute

Member of the media are hereby invited to apply for accreditation to the Castle of Good Hope's 350th Commemoration closing event, taking place on the 9th of December 2016.

The tribute, which will be officiated by the President of the Republic, His Excellency JG Zuma, will honour their Majesties, King Langalibalele, King Cetshwayo, King Sekhukhune and Khoisan freedom fighter Doman, who were all incarcerated at the Castle of Good Hope after having led various wars of resistance against the land and cattle dispossessions that ensued following the arrival of Dutch and later British settlers in South Africa.

Due to the high-level security nature of this event, which will also be attended by members of various royal houses, access to this event will be possible only with the possession of valid accreditation.

The accreditation process is being coordinated and facilitated by Defence Intelligence, as follows:

Venue:
1. Air Force Base Waterkloof (City of Tshwane)
2. Air Force Base Ysterplaat (City of Cape Town)

Dates: 28 November to 8 December
Time: 8 am to 5 pm

Members of the media are requested to produce valid identification as well as an authentic media/press identification card and MUST present themselves at the above stipulated accreditation centres to apply for and collect accreditation cards.
