South Africans already making their mark as the country is poised to deliver yet another successful elections

Elections have begun across the length and breadth of our country. The special votes ended today, Tuesday, 2nd August.

About 26 Million South Africans are expected to cast their ballots tomorrow, 3 August 2016. Government reminds all registered voters to vote where they are registered.

President Jacob Zuma has declared 3 August 2016 a public holiday to allow all registered voters to go out and cast their ballots. This means that voters across the country will have ample time to go out in their numbers and exercise their democratic right.

All responsible citizens should stand up and be counted as part of those who are working tirelessly to strengthen our democracy. By voting you affirm the continuing growth of our democracy.

Government requests total compliance with the rule of law during this election period and beyond, to ensure that communities are able to vote within a conducive and peaceful environment.

It is important to reiterate that any form of violence or intimidation of voters is unacceptable and the police will take swift action against the perpetrators.
