Minister Gugile Nkwinti hosts sixth Africa-China Poverty Reduction and Development Conference, 8 to 9 Dec

The Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform Gugile Nkwinti will host the 6th Africa-China Poverty Reduction and Development Conference to be held on 8 to 9th December 2015 at the Gallagher Convention Center in Johannesburg.

The conference is hosted by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform together with the International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC). Reducing poverty remains the primary goal of the global agenda.

The conference takes place against the backdrop of a successful China State visit and the recent Forum on China Africa Cooperation.   

The gathering, the first to be held on the African continent will be attended by H.E. Mr Hong Tianyun, Vice Minister of State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development (LGOP), P.R. China and Mr Gana Fofang, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative and senior South African cabinet ministers.
