Gauteng Legislature holds public meeting in Boksburg regarding issues of community safety, 30 Oct

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature, led by Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Community Safety, Honourable Sochayile Khanyile, will hold a public meeting to engage with members of the Community in Boksburg and its surrounding areas. The meeting will enable discussions on community safety issues in the region and the interrogation of the Annual Report of the Provincial Department of Community Safety’s performance.

Members of the media are invited to attend. No accreditation required.

This session will take place as follows:

Venue: Reiger Park Community Hall, Boksburg

The Committee pleads with the Community of Gauteng, Organizations and Individuals to submit their comments and inputs on issues which the Committee can also focus on in responding to the topics for discussion. 

Below are the topics:

  • Effectiveness of integration of criminal justice system (does it work for you? If not, what can be done better)
  • Traffic Management (are accidents reduced; is there fairness in investigating these issues)
  • Crime Prevention (is the department meeting people’s expectations)
  • Community Police Relations (is the community policing forum effective and yielding any positive results)

The views of the citizens of Gauteng are imperative in the composition of the Committee’s report when engaging with the department on their behalf.
