About renewal of the approval of an animal for the collection of semen

Before you may move an animal that you have registered for collection of semen to another centre, you must apply for renewal of the approval of an animal for the collection of semen.

You do not need to take blood samples of the animal concerned. You also do not need a veterinarian’s certificate unless you are moving the animal due to foot-and-mouth disease in the area where the animal is kept. However, you must contact the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development and give them reasons why you want to move the animal.

What you should do

  1. Contact the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Animal Improvement office.
  2. Pay the prescribed fee by cheque, postal order or money order to the Director-General: Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. If you are going to hand-deliver your application and your application fee, you must make sure you get a receipt of payment. If you are paying your fee through an electronic  fund transfer,  you must pay it into the following account:

  3. Download and complete the application form.
  4. Attach proof of payment on the form.
  5. Submit applications to:
