  • Completed foundation and senior secondary education in Mt.Frere
  • Completed Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Transkei (1988).
  • Completed a Higher Diploma in Education from University of Transkei (1989).
  • Currently studying towards a Masters Degree with University of Fort Hare.

Career/Memberships/Positions/Other Activities
  • Teacher at the Mt Frere Senior Secondary School in 1990.
  • Deputy Principal at Zwelakhe Senior Secondary School in 1994.
  • Deputy Director Human Resource Management within the administration of the Department of Education; E.G. Kei Region (1996).
  • Executive Mayor of the Alfred Nzo District Municipality and he also served in the Executive Committee of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) (2000).
  • Elected Deputy Secretary of the African National Congress, Eastern Cape (2003).
  • Member of the Provincial Legislature (2003).
  • Chairperson of two Portfolio Committees: Social Development and Housing, Local Government and Traditional Affairs.
  • Member of the Executive Authority for the Department of Economic Affairs, Environment and Tourism (2006).
