35 of 2004

The Traditional Health Practitioners Act 35 of 2004 intends:

  • to establish the Interim Traditional Health Practitioners Council of South Africa;
  • to provide for a regulatory framework to ensure the efficacy, safety and quality of traditional health care services;
  • to provide for the management and control over the registration, training and conduct of practitioners, students and specified categories in the traditional health practitioners profession; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.

Commencement

13 January 2006, Sections 7, 10, 11(3), 12 to 15, 47, 48 and 50 (Gazette 28389 of 11 January 2006)
