The Trade Practices Amendment Act 26 of 2001 intends:

  • to amend the Trade Practices Act, 1976 [repealed in 2011], so as:
    • to provide for theprohibition of certain practices relating to sponsored events and
    • to increase the penalties for the contravention of, or failure
    • to comply with,the provisions of the said Act; and
  • to provide for matters connected therewith.
